It is important to know the signs of low self-esteem in children. This will enable an adult to find them the help and assistance that is needed before the problem escalates farther. Since low self-esteem is associated with such a high number of psychological disorders, earlier intervention may help to prevent or reduce a more serious problem later on. A child needs someone to talk with about the challenges they face on a regular basis. Having a support system for a child will help develop a healthy level of self-esteem. It is the quality of time spent together that makes a difference, not the quantity. Take time to listen and validate your child’s feelings, it will make a difference.
